Scheme gets £14,500

Nottinghamshire Neighbourhood Watch Association has received a funding boost from the county council.

The council has allocated £14,500 for the association which acts as an umbrella to support the neighbourhood watch schemes in the county, several of which are in Eastwood.

The grant will fund the training of 160 members on how to run a scheme and pay for a website so groups can register online.

It will also fund two planned conferences for 2012 and 2013 to recognise the achievements made by the 30,000 volunteers involved in schemes.
