School meals more popular

The number of children eating healthy school meals in Nottinghamshire has climbed for the third year in a row according to new figures – with more than 34,000 children now having a school lunch every day.

New figures show that Nottinghamshire is above the regional average with 41.6 per cent of primary school pupils, and 31.2 per cent of secondary school pupils, having a school meal.

News also suggests the county council’s policy to buy local food has injected £1.6m into the local economy.
