A SCHOOL hosted a sustainability education day as a reward for winning a national competition.
Larkfield Junior School won a ‘carbon detectives’ competition which aimed to raise awareness of climate change and energy efficiency.
Schools were invited to submit information on the measures they were taking to reduce their carbon footprints.
As the winning prize the school was given a special assembly and workshop, where subjects such as travelling to school and recycling were touched upon.

She said: “Larkfields were worthy winners of the competition and it was a pleasure to visit the school and to meet a particularly lovely and intelligent group of young people.”
