Sheffield musical favourite Richard Hawley has announced a date at Sheffield City Hall this December.

The guitarist and singer-songwriter, who has built a successful solo career following stints in The Longpigs and Pulp and collaborations with many stars including Lisa Marie Presley, Arctic Monkeys and Paul Weller, wlll play the venue on Monday, December 5.

He has already announced local dates in the 3 Ring Circus, a unique event that is part of the city's Sensoria Festival of music film and digital, on October 8.

Richard will join with former The Czars frontman John Grant and singer-songwriter and The Coral founder Bill Ryder-Jones. Each will play three shows at three different venues on the night, playing a stripped-down acoustic set.

No-one knows who is opening, playing second or headlining each intimate gig in Trafalgar Warehouse, Upper Chapel, and Sheffield University Drama Studio. The event is already sold out, though.

Tickets for the City Hall gig are available from the City Hall box office, by calling 0114 278 9789 or online at www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk
