Business-training workshops are being held in Eastwood and Kimberley to help shopkeepers make the most of the busy Christmas period as well as recover after the January sales slump.

Hosted by Kerching Retail Ltd and Broxtowe Borough Council, the first workshop will deal with maximising custom over the festive period and will take place at Phoenix Cue Sports in Mansfield Road, Eastwood.

Many smaller retailers may struggle to capitalise on extra footfall and consumer spending spikes when they should prosper.

And with just a few Saturdays left until Christmas, this free workshop is the perfect opportunity to help businesses end 2013 with a bang. Between 6pm and 8pm, it aims to help attract more Christmas shoppers and get shoppers spending more with businesses.

The second workshop, also free of charge, will be hosted at Rumbletums cafe in Kimberley on March 6 next year. Called ‘retailers secrets’, it aims to let shop owners know the tricks of the trade to influence and persuade customers, bringing them back in during the quiet times.

Corin Birchall will share some of the secrets of the biggest and most successful retailers.
