CARING pupils and Staff at Nuthall’s Hempshill Hall Primary School will be bringing Christmas joy into the lives of poverty stricken children in Africa this festive season.
The children have boxed up sweets, stationary, books, games and toiletries for the Samaritan’s Operation Christmas Child Appeal.
The 60 parcels will be sent to Swaziland for children to have something to open this Christmas.
Headteacher Helen Ridge said: “We are pleased to be able to bring sunshine into the lives of children across the world with our gifts.
“The lesson our pupils have learned is it is better to give than to receive, and I think they have realised how fortunate they are to live in this country.”
Last year more than one million boxes filled with gifts were sent to children in Africa, central Asia and Eastern Europe.
