Spring fair for jamboree

BEAUVALE Scouts are hosting a spring fair to raise money for a trip to Denmark.

Scouts from groups in Eastwood, Kimberley, Brinsley, Greasley and Awsworth are going to a jamboree in Denmark with over 40,000 Scouts from all over the world and are holding a fair on April 28 to help boost funds.

There will be stalls and refreshments at Kettlebrook Lodge in Kimberley between 10am and 3pm.

The scouts need to raise £600 each and have so far raised about £350. They have been doing car boot sales, charity fashion shows, marshalling at triathlon events for Broxtowe Borough Council and packing customers’ bags at B&Q.

Beaver leader Cheryl Wilmot said the jamboree will involve a variety of activities and will help Scouts work towards three of their awards.
