THE TEAM behind an event which saw a seven-tonne steam engine hauled through the streets of Ilkeston last year have donated a massive £9,100.

The event involved 54 volunteers dragging the engine from one end of town to the other, who were all raising money for prostate cancer research at Royal Derby Hospital.

Organisers from the Coppice Steam Rally at Trowell finally collected all the cash together and made a recent trip down to the hospital to present the cash in person.

The group, whose next rally is on June 17 and 18, said the pull might become an annual event.
