shoppers at a Kimberley supermarket dug deep and donated trolleys full of food to local charities as part of an annual community scheme.

Sainsbury’s have joined forces with FareShare – a charity set up to fight hunger and tackle food waste – to donate food parcels to people struggling to get by.

PR ambassador for Kimberley’s Sainsbury’s, Angela Sheldon, said: “We asked customers to buy an extra tin or box of tea bags, or bags of pasta and rice and put them in the trolleys in store.

“We had a brilliant response and the food that was donated will now be distributed to under privileged people in the local area.”
