Talk on tram project job opportunities

Eastwood Young People’s Centre is playing host to a jobs drop-in session to talk to people about employment opportunities with the tram project.

Currently underway, Phase Two of the Nottinghamshire tram project includes links to Beeston and Chilwell, and contractors want to talk to local people about the roles being recruited.

Deputy Leader of Broxtowe Borough Council, Cllr Pat Lally, said: “These new jobs being created by the NET Phase Two project are a welcome boost to the local economy in these tough times and it is essential that the whole borough has every chance to access these exciting positions.

“I would urge anyone seeking employment in Eastwood and the surrounding areas to come forward as soon as possible to see how they can benefit from these opportunities.”

The event at the centre in Kelham Way is open to anyone looking for work and is on Friday December 14 from 11am to 1pm.

Guidance will be provided on how to how to apply for roles and representatives from Job Centre Plus, South Nottingham College and several employment agencies will also be there to offer advice and share information on local employment generally.

Advanced booking is recommended as availability is strictly limited.

Transport will be provided for anyone living in the south of the borough who wishes to attend, with more information about travel arrangements available at the time of booking.
