Town folk want chapel for weddings

People want Cemetery Chapel in Kimberley to be used for weddings and funerals according to a feasibility study being carried out at a cost of £11,000.

The building is owned by Kimberley Town Council and the study by Faithful Gould Consultants is looking at the cost of sustaining it for future use. Geoff Birth from Faithful Gould said that when people in the town were asked what they would like the chapel to be used for, at the top of the list was funerals, civil weddings and Christenings, followed by a museum, and a venue for drama, music and theatre.

The consultation will end on 10 May and a decision will be made after that.
