Ilkeston folk had the chance this week to see what the new train station for the town could look like.
A stall at Ilkeston Market Place and an exhibition at Awsworth Village Hall showed maps and plans which have been submitted to Broxtowe Borough Council this month.
The station is set to be built on land between Coronation Road and Millership Way and will include two platforms linked by a footbridge.
The car park for about 150 spaces includes disabled spaces, parking for cyclists and motorbikes, a drop-off point, taxi rank and a new bus stop.
News of the exhibitions sparked debate among our readers.
Samantha Leatherland on Facebook said: “Just makes it easier to get out of Ilkeston and go shopping in a decent town!”
But Susan Smith came to its defence, saying: “I really welcome the principle of a station in Ilkeston to support regeneration and make this a better place to live in.”
And Diane Kane said: “I love Ilkeston and I live in Derby. I like the small independent shops and you have a wonderful museum.”
