MODEL steam train enthusiasts from all corners of Great Britain turned out in force to support an Eastwood man’s charity efforts for Rainbows Hospice.

Peter Thornhill held a steam train display, auction and raffle at the Wellington Inn pub and raised £1,000.

Mr Thornhill met most of the people who attended at an online steam train forum.

Then enthusiast said: “The support from local exhibitors and those from further afield, including Scotland and Wales, has been magnificent. I would particularly like to thank my mum, the Wellington Inn for its hospitality and Norman Tendall whose street organ outside the pub attracted everybody!”

Mr Thornhill held a similar event last year and raised £800.
