‘Treecycle’ scheme launched

Nottinghamshire County Council’s has launched its annual Christmas tree recycling campaign which will raise money for the Royal British Legion.

The Council’s waste contractor, Veolia Environmental Services is sponsoring its tree this year as part of the Christmas ‘Treecycle’ campaign which encourages residents to recycle their real Christmas tree at the end of the festive period rather than send it to landfill.

By taking a tree to a Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC), the trees can be shredded for composting or chipped for use in parks and gardens.
