Detectives have released CCTV footage of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a robbery in Kimberley.

It happened at the Co-op store in Maws Lane at 7.45am on 11 January 2017.

The man, who was carrying a large Rhino-branded builder’s sack, jumped over the counter and began to put a large quantity of cigarettes into the sack.

A struggle ensued between staff and the offender which caused him to flee empty-handed.

The man is described as white, aged 20-30 years, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build with blue eyes. He had a dark-coloured scarf over his face and his hood pulled up. He was wearing grey jogging bottoms, a dark-coloured hooded top and gloves.

Anyone who recognises the man or who has any information about the robbery is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 126 of 11 January 2017.
