Last weekend folk from across the Chad area descended on the Nottinghamshire Country Show both as spectators and exhibitors of livestock and other spectacles.

And this year farmers were not the only people with ruddy cheeks as a cold wind blew through Newark Showground followed by icy downpours.

But this did not stop more than 50,000 spectators from attending on Saturday and Sunday.

And what a line-up was on offer - alongside the usual livestock and equestrian competitions was everything from aeroplane, motorcycle and mountain bikes displays to exotic animals such as lizards, snakes and tree frogs.
