Wanted: Animal welfare visitors

Do you love dogs and really care about their welfare?

Police crime commissioner Paddy Tipping is on the hunt for members of the public to become ‘independent lay visitors’ to provide an impartial and independent check that police dogs are well looked after and cared for properly.

The role will involve visits to the police kennels to observe police dog training, check on their condition and welfare and then report back to the commissioner.

This is a purely voluntary role, although expenses will be paid and volunteers should have a basic understanding of working animals. Contact Jackie Nash on 0115 844 5998.
