ANGER erupted at a Kimberley Town Council meeting after councillors claimed the first they knew about a playpark makeover was from the Advertiser and on Facebook.

Broxtowe borough councillor Richard Robinson faced accusations that he had not involved the town council enough in plans to give Knowle Park in Swingate a £45,000 makeover.

Vice chairman Steve Brunt asked: “Can you tell us what’s going up at Knowle Park?

“I read about it in the Eastwood Advertiser before you told us about it.”

Cllr Dorothy Saxton added: “I was quite disgusted to read it when we didn’t know anything about it. All your friends on Facebook have read it.”

But Cllr Robinson moved to reassure councillors and said: “I have been told that you have been kept informed. Nothing will be going up at the park without your say so.”
