Awsworth Primary School has been busy planting vegetable seeds and looking out for local wildlife after Severn Trent Water helped to create a fun and educational garden.

The water garden includes a pond, complete with fish, and raised beds and has created a focal point in school.

It will teach the children about pond, plant and insect life.

Jane Mainprize, head teacher at the school, said: “The Severn Trent team has done a fantastic, professional job in constructing the area and it will be a resource that the school can use in teaching children about pond life for many years to come. Insects have already been spotted in the water, and the children are excited to monitor their daily visitors and look after their new fish friends!”
