Welfare is thriving, says the committee

The Greasley Miners’ Welfare want to let town folk know they are open for business and ‘thriving’.

The welfare committee expressed concern after the Advertiser said last week that clubs in the area were struggling.

One of the committee members said: “We are not in difficulties. We have lots of bookings for this year and next year and anyone with a booking does not need to worry. We are flourishing.”

The welfare, in Dovecote Road, serve a range of beers and real ales.

Open seven days a week, there is entertainment on Saturday nights, Bingo on Thursdays and Bingo and organ playing on Sundays.
