KEEN to recruit new members, the Eastwood and Brinsley Women’s Institute held an open day to showcase its involvement in the community.
The ladies ran stalls and served teas and coffees to show people what they did, generate interest in the group and help fund trips, activities and guest speakers.
There were stalls selling jewellery, perfume, ornaments, books, cakes and bric-a-brac at the event at the Dora Philips Hall earlier this month.
Eastwood and Brinsley WI already has over 30 members, but president Maureen Bradley is always on the look-out for new people to sign up.
Meetings take place on the second Tuesday of every month at the Dora Philips Hall in Wood Street, Eastwood.
