Woman is jailed for stabbing her husband

A LANGLEY MILL woman who stabbed her partner in the stomach during an argument has been jailed for six years.

Faye Swann, 34, denied wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm but was found guilty by a jury at Derby Crown Court following a trial.

Swann stabbed her 37-year-old partner in the stomach following an argument at their home on Queen Street, Langley Mill, on April 5.

Police were called by a neighbour and Swann was arrested.

Her partner was taken to hospital where he remained for a week.

He did not suffer any permanent injury.

Inspector Hayley Barnett from the public protection unit, said: “This case highlights the fact that men can be the victims of domestic violence as well as women.

“This was a serious assault and the length of the sentence reflects that.”
