NottinghamshirE Fire Authority has set up a working group to consider closing stations down to save money.
The authority is looking at closing certain fire stations in the county, and having crews from nearby Derbyshire stations to cover the patches.
As we reported last year, Eastwood and Stapleford stations have been highlighted as possible closures along with two others next year.
A further four have been proposed for closure this year.
Authority member Jason Zadrozny said the plans could benefit Eastwood because it is a retained station which firefighters have to drive to, before getting out to the fire.
The working group, set up in a budget meeting last Friday, February 25, will investigate the proposals and report back to the authority.
