Football club forced to find new pitch

A football club claims it has been forced to find a new ground because a parish council will not pay to repair showers on the site.

Nicky Jones, manager of The Crown Inn Selston Football Club, said the team have played on the Church Lane pitch in Brinsley for six years but will now have to find a new one because Brinsley Parish Council will not pay to get the showers fixed. The Nottingham Amateur Alliance team will play their last game there on Saturday.

Nicky said: “It’s diabolical. We’re good on that ground and have only lost one game there in two years.”

Brinsley Parish Council was not available for comment at the time of going to press.
