It can be hard for children in foster care to understand what is happening to them and how they can be involved in decisions.
To help children make sense of confusing and worrying situations, the British Association for Adoption and Fostering has published a book called Dennis and the Big Decisions.
Packed with brightly-coloured illustrations, it follows the story of a duckling called Dennis and clearly explains, in a child-friendly way, that children are not responsible for decisions but their wishes and feelings are vitally important.
It is published with the support of The Stanley Smith General Charitable Trust. You can see it at www.baaf.org.uk.
