BRACKLEY Town are based in Northamptonshire and play in the British Gas Business Premier Division, otherwise known as the Southern Premier League, which is at the same level of the non-league pyramid as the UniBond Premier Division.
They are managed by Phil Lines, who is in his second spell at the helm and who led them to the Southern League Division One title in 2007.

Saturday's game will be the first time in the club's 118-year history they have played in the FA Cup first round proper.

Among their playing staff are a few notable former professionals.

Striker Tony Thorpe carved out a very successful career in the Football League, scoring over 100 league goals in the colours of Bristol City, Queens Park Rangers and Luton Town among others.

An eye injury hampered his career after dropping out of professional football but at 34 is still capable of doing some damage in front of goal.

Midfielder David Perpetuini played Premier League football with Watford as well as 86 times for Gillingham before moving into non-league football.

Twenty-nine year-old goalkeeper Richard Knight is identified by many as Brackley's key player and was on Derby County's books as a youngster. His career has also taken him to Hull City, Oxford United, Carlisle United, Macclesfield Town and Colchester United.

Brackley play at the 1,500 capacity St James Park, and average crowds of around 250-350.

To reach the FA Cup first round, they first disposed of Leyton with a 4-2 away win in the first qualifying round.

That was followed by a tie with Stourbridge who they beat 1-0 in a replay after a 1-1 draw.

The third qualifying round saw Boreham Wood the next to fall as visitors Brackley won 1-0.

A tie at Blue Square South side Hampton & Richmond was all that stood in the way of history being made and Josh Green's second-half winner put Brackley into the first round proper for the first time.
