RUNNERS braved the wind and heavy rain to compete once again in the annual Goose Fair Gallop in Kimberley on Sunday.
Organised by Kimberley and District Striders, the race saw a total of 146 athletes finish the course.

The men's team event was tied between Long Eaton AC and Notts AC, with Bruce Raeside from Notts AC winning the individual race.

He was followed by Philip Critchlow from Beaumond RC and Mark Rose from Shepshed RC.

Winner of the ladies race was Claire Woolis from Sutton Harriers, with Gemma Steel from Hermitage Harriers and Natalie Yates from Mansfield Harriers coming second and third respectively.

The Youth Cup was won by Matthew Bath.

There were also prizes awarded to other various age categories and a number of spot prizes given out at the finish.

- The Striders are always looking for new members of all ages and abilities and anyone who is interested in running is welcome to go and join them on a Wednesday night run at 7pm at Kimberley Leisure Centre).
