Kimberley Town 4
Harworth CI 0
Paul Rawden's Kimberley Town came up with the goods by beating Harworth CI 4-0 at The Stag Ground, a scoreline that flattered the visitors.

Pierre Mercier returned to action for The Stags for the first time since January.

It took Kimberley on
ly 10 minutes to break the deadlock as Steve Rudge scored from a goalmouth scramble.

Ricky Leverton then scored his first goal for the club to double the home team's lead.

Kimberley could have had more if it wasn't for the Harworth keeper who made three stunning saves to keep the score down.

Lord in the Kimberley goal denied Harworth from pulling a goal back as he turned a shot just over the crossbar.

After 30 minutes the game was all but over when a 25-yard screamer from Shaun Ncube beat the Harworth keeper to make it 3-0 to Kimberley.

The Stags should have added another before half-time but Emmanuel Brianto's marvellous effort was matched by the visiting team keeper.

Leverton made it 4-0 on the hour against a Harworth side who didn't really test Lord in the Kimberley goal.

The Stags at this point eased the pressure but still kept the visiting team keeper busy who was by far the outstanding player for the visitors.

Leverton came agonisingly close to completing his hat-trick but the Harworth keeper denied him again.

The Stags still have three more fixtures to complete. This Saturday they host struggling Thorne Colliery. Kick off 3pm.

On Wednesday they travel to Stanton Ilkeston before completing their season at home to Newark Flowserve on May 17.

Today's Vote

Do you think there is room for development in our area, or do you agree with protesters that it's being turned into a "brick jungle"?
No more development, we're losing our beautiful countryside.
The protesters are overreacting
