STRIKER Tyeisse Nightingale became the latest signing for Eastwood Town this week.
The Nottingham-based frontman arrives after a spell with Alfreton Town, whom he joined in March following an impressive season with Hucknall Town.
Badgers boss Paul Cox had been chasing Nightingale (pictured), often known as TJ, throughout the campaign, and has benefited from his release by their Blue Square North rivals.
Cox has been on holiday for the last fortnight, but when asked earlier in the season had emphasised the quality he could bring to his side.
He said: "We've been lacking goals and TJ is an exciting prospect who knows where the net is.
"His record for Hucknall this season has been phenomenal and he's a player who could offer us a great deal of quality."
Upon signing for Alfreton, Nightingale scored on his debut against Redditch United, but then was unable to dislodge the Reds' key striking duo of Liam Hearn and Paul Clayton.
He is the fourth player to be signed by Eastwood since the season ended, following in the footsteps of Lee Stevenson, Adie Hawes and Andy Todd.
Meanwhile, changes have also been made behind the scenes at Coronation Park.
Coach Richard Cooper has been promoted to the position of assistant manager.
Cooper, 30, has been at Coronation Park for nearly five years, spending most of that time on the playing staff but also last season as a member of Cox's coaching set-up.
The former Nottingham Forest and York City defender will now step into a role previously held by John Ramshaw before he left the club in the spring.
Work on the Coronation Park pitch is also progressing at good pace, with the famous slope now levelled out and the surface entirely relaid.
In his monthly update on the Badgers' official website, club owner Robert Yong said whilst no games will be playable on the pitch in pre-season, fans will notice a dramatic improvement when they return for the first home league match of the new campaign.
He said: "The gradient has been confirmed by Fineturf as 1:100 length and 1:400 width, ideal for drainage but more importantly a flat and even playing surface with no undulations of more than 1mm.
"In layman's terms, we have reduced the slope from 3.4m to 1m and the surface is as flat as a pancake.
"We have also taken the precaution of employing an additional groundsman to oversee the growth of the grass and we have used the highest quality seed available."
The club recently received the necessary 'B' grading needed to remain a Blue Square North club, following months of ground improvements.
