EASTWOOD darts player Aden Kirk made it to the last 16 of the PDC under-21 World Darts Championships held in Crawley last Friday.
Kirk, 19, has endured a long, hard year on the PDC youth circuit, travelling all over not only this country but also Europe, having played in countries including Holland, Austria, Ireland and Germany.
After finishing 33rd in the overall order of merit, just outside the automatic entry positions, Kirk qualified with ease in an event in Chesterfield and took his place on the oche for the Championship finals - featuring the top 64 in the world in his age group.
He comfortably progressed past Steve Haggerty 5-0 in the first round before overcoming his friend and England international Ricky Evans 5-2.
The last 16 clash pitted Kirk against senior pro tour player Daz Whittingham, but despite playing some outstanding darts he fell to a 5-1 defeat, picking up some prize money to go towards next year’s professional tour in the process.
Aden wishes to thank his sponsor, Giorgios Continental of Moorgreen.
