Awsworth hit six goals

Awsworth Villa bounced back from defeat the previous week in the Senior Division with an emphatic 6-1 away win at FC Cavaliers on Saturday.

Dan Towle did much of the damage with a hat-trick, the other goals coming from Greg Ellis, Joe Maguire andDanny Tring as Awsworth moved up to ninth in the league.

Selston were involved in a thrilling 3-3 draw at Burtno Joyce, Dominic Airey, Dominic Carraher and Ben Moore on target.

Selston sit just behind the top two with a game in hand on both Hucknall Rolls Royce and current leaders Kimberley MW who beat Bilborough Town 1-0 - see the match report for details.

In Division One, Awsworth Villa Reserves edged out Southwell City Reserves 3-2 to move further away from the drop zone, Damien Holmes and two goals from Ben Watson helping them to victory, while Underwood Villa were also in good form as they overcame Ruddington Village Reserves 4-1 and sit in seventh place on the same number of points as three other teams.

In Division Two Cup action, Underwood Villa Reserves and Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves met at Digby Street with Kimberley winning 2-1.

Sub Dan Belcher netted both goals for Kimberley, Craig Dainty scoring Underwood’s reply.

Cup ties meant no league games were played in Division Two last weekend, but Nottingham United Reserves have been forced to withrdraw from the league meaning their results have been expunged and the table amended accordingly.
