Selston needed extra time to finally overcome Bilborough United 4-2, Joe Riley and Reagan Marriott having scored in normal time before strikes from Damien James and Sean Gregory sealed the win in the added 30 minutes.
Watnall Athletic, however, fell to a 5-0 loss at home to Senior Division side West Bridgford.
In league action, Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves were 3-0 winners over Awsworth Villa Reserves in Division One, Dan Belcher, Josh Lewis and Gavin Powell the men on target.
The result kept Kimberley in fourth spot, just five points behind leaders Newark Flowserve and with a game in hand.
Kimberley Miners Welfare AFC remain well clear in Division Two as they overcame Ashland Rovers Reserves 2-1, Ben Greenhalgh and Daniel Walsh the scorers in an away win that was Kimberley’s ninth three-point haul in their ten games so far and which puts them nine points clear of Watnall in second.
Underwood Villa Reserves could only secure a 2-2 draw at bottom-of-the-table side Sandhurst Reserves thanks to goals from Ashley Foster and Sam Tring.
