Charlie’s winner puts U10 Whites into next round

Moorgreen Colts round-up.

The U10 Whites were involved in a classic cup match with Southwell City at the weekend.

Southwell had only lost once in the last nine games and a tough game for the Colts was played at a quick pace with both teams playing fast, passing football.

Moorgreen had the better first-half having several chances to score before Charlie Barlow netted just prior to half-time to put them ahead at the break.

And that was how it stayed after a frantic second-half that saw several tremendous saves from the keepers and stout defending throughout.

Man-of-the-match Finlay Whyte played a big role in keeping Moorgreen ahead.

Moorgreen Colts U10s would like to thank Sue Stack from the Nuthall Parish Council for hosting Moorgreen at Basil Russell Park and helping them to progress to the next round of the cup.

The U13s lost 7-1 to Ashfield, Justin Holmes with the goal and Callum Clarke man-of-the-match.

The only teams to play were the U7s and U8s Blue. Both put in credible performances with Connor Jolly man-of-the-match for the U8 Blues.
