Bids totalling more than £430,000 have already been made to Nottinghamshire County Council’s £1m Sports Legacy fund.
But there is also a reminder that people should apply by the end of the year – December 31 – as the council seeks to announce grant funding briskly to make an immediate impact on building on the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Nottinghamshire County Council launched the fund in the autumn, offering two streams of funding to help sports organisations support development across the county.
Broxtowe has so far seen four bids made to the county council’s sports development team for funding.
Cllr John Cottee, culture committee chairman at Nottinghamshire County Council said: “There has been a fantastic response from people to our Sports Legacy Fund already and we firmly believe this funding can have a lasting legacy for a golden future of sport in Nottinghamshire.”
