There was more disappointment for Kimberley at Newdigate Street where the 2nd XI suffered a 37-run defeat at the hands of Collingham.

The visitors were asked to bat first and were reduced to 99-8 by a combination of Joe Platts (3-28), Max Sugarman (2-60), Ian Wright (2-43) and Jack Blatherwick (1-21) before a ninth-wicket partnership of 95 between Tom Gilbert (61*) and Will Cousins (56) rescued the innings and Collingham were all out for 197 off the final ball.

The reply did not go so well though and Kimberley were bowled out for 160 in the 44th over when trying to hold out for the losing draw.

Earlier on Mick Blatherwick had made 46, but only his 13-year-old nephew Jack (30*) could make it to thirty as Harry Shepherd (4-54), Will Cousins (2-19) and Oliver Syson (2-24) picked up the wickets.
