Maximum for seconds

Langley Mill United’s second XI stay top of the table after a maximum points victory on Saturday in Division 5N of the Derbyshire County Cricket League.

The 2nd team travelled to Breaston to play Sandiacre and ended up taking all 27 points .

Sandiacre batted first and they scored 173 for 5 from their 46 overs.

Chris Attwood, with an unbeaten 73, was the main contributor.

All of the other batsmen chipped in around him.

Alex Bacon and Grant Ball picked up two wickets apiece for the Millers.

In reply, captain Andrew Ball led the way with 77 and, as with the Sandiacre innings, everyone else chipped in and eventually the Millers got the required runs with four overs to spare.

This keeps the Millers top but only just as Eckington are right behind them.

Next week, the Millers host Selston Town in a game with a 1.30pm start.
