Cuckney were progressing towards their target with openers Adam Burgess (69) and Luke Thomas (47) starting brightly, but Ordsall’s spinners turned the game with four wickets each for Gary Andrews and Martyn Long to secure their side’s first victory of the season.

Plumtree kept up the pressure on the top two with a comprehensive home win over bottom of the table Farnsfield.

The visitors asked Plumtree to have first dig, a ploy that backfired when they declared in the 47th over on 279-7.

Storey brothers Sam (68) and Ben (58) put on 119 for the second wicket and in a rain-interrupted innings, skipper Matt Wood struck an unbeaten 58 from 33 balls to set up the declaration.

Farnsfield were never up with the rate and were dismissed for a measly 87 inside 29 overs with left-armer Glen Read grabbing 5-24 in 12 impressive overs.

Radcliffe have replaced Ordsall in the bottom two after slipping to a seven-wicket defeat away at Welbeck.

The south Notts side batted first and will have been disappointed to be dismissed for 150, despite David Lucas opening the batting and scoring 40.

Tom Lungley was the leading bowler with 6-39 from his 15 overs. Welbeck needed fewer than 32 overs to reach their target, led by 70 not out from Andrew Parkin-Coates.

Kimberley took a 20 point win at home to Clifton when they bowled the visitors out for 156 with only Notts’ Greg Smith making a significant contribution with 57 at the top of the order.

Tom Rowe took 4-25 and there were a brace of wickets each for George Bacon and skipper Alex King.

Clifton did take five wickets to slow the Kimberley reply after an opening stand of 83 between Shaun Levy (48) and Sam Johnson (38) before the in-form Dom Brown saw them home with 37 not out.

Caythorpe remain at the top of the table after securing 18 points in a winning draw at Lady Bay.

They were bowled out for 237 in the 46th over with Andrew Staszkiewicz top-scoring with 42 to counter Adam Tillcock’s excellent figures of 5-55 from 12.2 overs.

The Academy reply never really got going with six batters being dismissed for single figures in their reply of 164-9.

Tillcock completed a fine day with an innings of 62 with Caythorpe skipper Jim Hemmings returning 4-44 from his 10 overs.

A number of games were disrupted by rain but the only one not to reach a conclusion was the clash between Attenborough and West Indian Cavaliers.

The Cavs declared on 257-8 after 43 overs with half-centuries for Aaron Thomas (55) and Rehan Iqbal (51), despite 5-75 from Andrew Simkiss.

The Cavaliers nearly did enough to grab a win when they reduced Attenborough to 169-9 in their reply.

Alec McKinlay struck 40 at the top of the innings but was one of Corey Collymore’s six victims (6-54).
