Eastwood quartet are in the medals once again

STUDENTS from Eastwood Taekwondo Academy have been winning medals again - this time at the UKITF British International Taekwondo Championships.More than 600 competitors from around the British Isles and Europe converged on Reading’s Rivermead Leisure Centre for the vent, hosted by Master Trevor Nicholls 8th Dan and Master Mark Skyrme 7th Dan.

Eastwood TKD Academy sent four competitors.

Kerry Wilson 5th Dan competed in the senior section and won gold medals in the pattern and power sections as well as a bronze for sparring.

Jordan Wood, 1st Kup Red Belt, competed in the Kids Kickers section and won a gold for sparring and bronze for pattern.

Brandon Wilson and Alex Willis, both 1st Kup Red Belts, also both performed well on the day in the cadets section.

Meanwhile, Kerry Wilson has been selected for the European Championships in Italy later this month.

Instructor Master Michael Wood 7th Dan said: “Thanks all who took part in this prestigeous tournament and well done to all of our members who attended.

“We all wish Kerry well in the European Championships.”
