Eastwood taekwondo stars perform well in Wales

Members of Eastwood Taekwondo Academy were in excellent form at the recent British International Open Championships held in Cardiff.
Hosted by Master Trevor Nicholls 8th Dan, over 400 comeptitors attended from the UK, Europe and even as far afield as Hong Kong.
The results of the Eastwood medal winners were:
Senior males - Kerry Wilson 5th Dan - Gold x 2 (patterns, power), Bronze (special technique)
Kevan Robinson 3rd Dan - Silver (patterns), bronze (sparring)
Cadets - Brandon Wilson 1st Dan - Gold (sparring)
Adults - Scott Churchill red belt 1st Kup - Gold (power), Silver (sparring)
Juniors - Vesta Daukintyte white belt 9th Kup - Bronze x 3 (sparring, pattern, power)
Kids Kickers - Rachel Burdett yellow belt 7th Kup - Silver (sparring)
Jules Fergus white belt 9th Kup - Bronze (sparring)
Instructor Michael Wood 7th Dan said: “I’m very proud of everyone who attended this major event, including those who on this occasion did not come away with a medal but did come away with a lot of experience.
“I’d also like to thank the spectators and parents who supported their families.”
