Eastwood TKD impress at team championships

Several members of the Eastwood Taekwondo Academy put in good displays as they took part in the British Team Championships near Bristol.

The team took a total of nine gold medals and eight bronze in the event which took place at The Olympiad Leisure Centre in Chippenham.

In the Black Belt Senior team, Andrew Leivers 6th Dan, Kerry Wilson 5th Dan and Kevan Robinson 3rd Dan each came away with a gold medal for pattern, power and also in special technique. Wilson and Robinson also attained bronze medals in the sparring category.

In the Cadet Black Belt team, Brandon Wilson 1st Dan and Adam Hill 1st Dan had to put in extra effort due to a third member not being present, but were unable to come away with a medal.

The Kids Kickers Team, yellow belt division, comprising Reave Steel 7th Kup, Jules Fergus 8th Kup and Jay Lord 9th Kup, all came away with bronze medals in the pattern and sparring categories.

Instructor Master Michael Wood said: “Once again I was very proud of all my students and of their commitment on the day.”
