Fisher hits a brace as Welfare progress

A round-up of the action involving our local teams in the Nottinghamshire Senior League.

In the Senior Cup, two Jake Fisher goals were enough for Kimberley Miners Welfare to ease past Ruddington Village and Keyworth went through 1-0 at Selston.

Bulwell continued their unbeaten run with an amazing 11-0 win at Underwood Villa with goals coming from Allan Jeffries, Scott Litchfield, one own goal and four each from Conor Carter and Jamie Walker.

In the Senior Division, bottom club Sandhurst fell 3-0 at the hands of Awsworth Villa with Richard Grove, Danny Towle and Sam Bowmar getting the goals.

In Division One Awsworth Villa Reserves beat Gedling Southbank 2-1 with two goals coming from Nick Sherratt and Gedling’s reply from Jay Whalley.

In Division Two, two James Prudence goals were enough for FC05 to beat Selston Reserves 2-1 with Selston’s reply being an own-goal.

Kirton Brickworks remain top of the league after beating Moorgreen 3-0 with goals from Paul Wass, Adam Boddy and Luke Boddy.

l In the EMPAL League, Priory Celtic were held to a 3-3 draw at Clifton Dynamo.

Dec Smith and Killian O’Neill were Priory’s scorers in a result which leaves Priory nine points ahead of Arnold at the top of the table, but Arnold have three games in hand.
