An early burst of goals from Moorgreen Colts U14s eased them to a 6-1 victory away at Hucknall Sports on Saturday.

They were 3-0 up after 14 minutes with two goals from Connor Deakin and one from Cian Sheridan.

Moorgreen continued to dominate the first half and went in at half-time 4-0 up with man of the match Angus James scoring the fourth.

The second half saw Hucknall get into the game a bit more but they couldn’t stop James increasing Moorgreens lead.

Hucknall eventually got a goal back only to see Louis Smith complete the scoring.

Moorgreen’s U10s also chalked up a 6-1 win away to Vernon Colts.

The first 10 minutes was scrappy as both sides got used to the playing conditions, but after that there was only one team in it.

The first goal came from some great passing and wing play with the cross from the left being neatly guided into the net by Isaac Mcdaid.

George Skevington added a brace, the second one a left foot curler from outside the box.

The next three goals came from neat passing and movement and quick thinking with Adam Hulse, Lennon Maisey, Luke Campball on target.

Vernon replied with a lovely headed corner late on.

Moorgreen’s U9s saw off Carlton Town Yellow 6-2.

Moorgreen started very positively, going on the attack from the kick-off and they kept the pressure on the Charlton goal for much of the first half, resulting in some well worked goals - two from Leonardo Formosa, one from Jamie Caress and one from Joshua Allen Mee - by half-time.

Carlton came back out strong and five minutes in pulled a goal back.

After that Moorgreen started to play like they did in the first half with Harry Williams producing a brilliant run down the left and crossing perfectly for Leonardo to tap in for a fantastic hat-trick.

More pressure from Moorgreen resulted in a corner from which Max Parsons pinpointed the ball to Leonardo for him to place in the net.

With time running down Carlton, to their credit, kept going and scored a well worked goal.

Man of the Match was Harry Williams for an excellent all-round game.

Moorgreen U12s beat Burton Joyce Green 2-1 with two goals from Aiden Horspool, who also got man of the match, while the U13s lost 3-1 at Rolls Royce Leisure Blue, with a goal from Nathaniel Peters and man of the match Thomas Skellett.

The U13s Blue went down 5-2 at Sneinton Town, two goals from Connor Wilson and man of the match Benjamin Riordan, and the U15s were beaten 4-2 by visiting Keyworth United Black, goals from Alexander Wright and James Kells, man of the match was Jacob Cooper

Moorgreen U16s beat Blidworth Welfare Reds 3-0 with strikes from man of the match Lewis Hallam and two from Justin Holmes.

Almost all of the U7s found the net at home against Vernon Red with man of the match Austin Foster a rock in defence.

Moorgreen U8s Blues played a tight game away at Ruddington Colts on Saturday but lost 2-1.

The Colts pressed the home team in the first 10 minutes and were unlucky to concede 2 quick goals on the break. For the remainder of the game Moorgreen continued to work and move the ball well and took the game to the home team with Charlie Stevenson and Ryan Garratt coming close. Moorgreens hard work was eventually rewarded with a well taken goal by man of the match Jamie Poole after a great passing move started by Kyran Thompson in defence.

Ryan Morris was once again solid in the Moorgreen goal.

The Colts continued to apply pressure but just couldn’t find an equaliser.

The U9s Blue played at home to Attenborough Colts, with the visitors having a game plan of being very physical and stopping Moorgreen play football.

Unfortunately Moorgreen couldn’t get a break through and lost 2-0.

Man of the match for Moorgreen was Cameron Pailing for outstanding contribution and hard work.
