Moorgreen Colts U7s began their new season with a YEL tournament at Hucknall rolls Royce.
The manager used this tournament to play lads in positions they weren’t used too and it was great to see goals coming from different players.
The Moorgreen boys played some really good football over the five games, with Koby Connor being named man of the tournament.
U8s Blues struggled on Saturday against a very strong Bagthorpe Athletic side in their opening league game,
Man-of-the-match was Kyran Thompson whose strong and battling defensive performance was outstanding against a strong Bagthorpe attack.
U8’s white enjoyed a thrilling encounter with lots of goals, after going 3-0 down to win 6-5.
Goals from Reuben Clowes (4) and Sebastian Staley (2) helped Moorgreen turn the game around.
U9’s Blues entertained Attenborough Colts Blue in an excellent game of football.
The first goal came from a smooth move down the left wing with Charlie Pickworth swinging in a cross and a great controlled finish from Matthew Salisbury, Charlie Pickworth then went from provider to scorer with a cut in from the left wing and a nice finish with his right foot.
In the second half Attenborough came at Moorgreen, but they defended extremely well with Joe Hodgson and George Lee very difficult to beat and Joshua Mellors in goal on form.
Moorgreen did hit a third with Cameron Pailing working his way through the Attenborough players and eventually dropping nicely to finish in the bottom corner. The final result was 3-1.
The U12s won 6-0 away to Clifton All Whites. Goals came from Callum Frogson (3), Nathaniel Peters (1), Thomas Moore (1) and Freddie Pitts (1). Man-of-the-match was Nathaniel Peters.
