ripley Town lost a tight division one game 2-1 to local rivals Swanwick Pentrich Road Reserves.
Without central defenders Kenny Birks and Steve Bayliss it was always going to be tough, and it was made even harder by Swanwick fielding many first team players.
Things got worse for Ripley when Mark Walker limped off injured and the visitors took the lead through a deflected Mark Waghorn shot midway through the half.
Swans dominated the first period and Ripley were glad to regroup at half time.
Twenty minutes into the second half, Swanwick scored a great goal through Guy Taylor before Ripley sparked into life and Darren Chatterton was denied when clean through on goal then his cross-shot was just wide.
Chris Green hit the bar before David Roberts neatly finished a Dan Cummings through-ball. However, Swanwick held out to take the spoils and local bragging rights.
This Saturday Ripley are at Bargate Rovers (3pm).
