A run of four consecutive victories in the 3 x 4 league came to an end on Tuesday the 31st at Bulwell Forest.
The Bulwell green is a most difficult surface to play on. The home side use their knowledge of the various runs in the green to good effect, and took the match in the last three ends.
The following evening Greasley played Carlton in the Glover Trophy at Coronation Park. A good performance by the Greasley team saw them through to the next round.
On Thursday the 2nd Greasley travelled to one of their favourite venues at Rolls Royce Bowls Club.
A pleasant evening and some excellent bowling by both sides ended with a one point win for Rolls Royce.
Skip Rob Rose, John Keetch and Brian Griffin bowled superbly to win their rink against three very good Rolls Royce bowlers and came very close to winning the match.
The results for the Saturday 3 x 4 league have much improved. Last weekend’s match away to Hucknall Tichfield Park ended as a third win in succession for Greasley. It was a pleasing team effort as there were many good performances on the day, against a strong team.
The next home match is on Saturday the 11th, 2.30pm start.
