Greasley MW Bowls Club

Round-up by Mick Gorman

Congratulations to Greasley bowler Rob Rose.

Along with Dave and Janet Adams, Rob entered the EBA over 55s triples at Skegness.

With over 50 teams entered, the trio did extremely well to win six rounds to reach the final. Their excellent day was completed by an exciting victory in the final match.

On Tuesday the 28th Beeston Unity came to Coronation Park. A comfortable win on all three rinks saw Greasley move to the top of the Tuesday 3 x 4 league.

On Thursday Greasley travelled to Sherwood for a 4 x 3 league match. Greasley were too strong for the home team, and came away with their third victory in succession.

Win number four came on Saturday in the 3 x 4 league when Proprietary Bowls Club where the visitors to Coronation Park.

Despite the best efforts of a good Proprietary team, Greasley bowlers were determined and consistent.

Of the three rinks played Greasley won on two, and lost on the third rink, by only one shot on the last end.

Once again the opposition captain highlighted the quality of the half-time tea. Club members are extremely grateful for all the effort put in by Irene Wagstaff.

The next home match is on Saturday the 9th, 2.30pm start.
