Kimberley swimmers seal championship

Kimberley Swimming Club are champions of Division Three of the Sports Centre League.

In the final round of six held at Sutton on Saturday, Ki,berley finished first to win the league and earn promotion to Division Two for next season.

On the night personal bests were achieved by Lauren Shipley (3), Matthew Fearn (2), Tyler Meads (2) and Callum Williamson.

First places went to - Jade Calder (2), Chloe Bis,, Lauren Shipley (3), Megan Hanson, Gemma Calder, Mollie Wright (2), Matthew Shipley (3) Tom Ellis, Matthew Fearn, Robert Swinburne (2) and Ben Barsby(2)

First places also went to the 9yrs mixed medley and free relay team of Matthew Jackson, Finley Bunheejee, Amy Sheldon and Leila Fletcher-Smith,, the 11/13 yrs medley team of Matthew Fearn, Tom Ellis, Matthew Shipley and Aiden Williamson, and the 14 and over medley team of Jade Calder, Katie Horner, Jade Duffy and Gemma Calder.

The final results were Kimberley 182, Sherwood B 161, Mansfield B 114 , Portland 112 , Worksop B 80.

Meanwhile, three swimmers from Kimberley Swimming Club and one former member of the Club all represented Kimberley School in the 57th Secondary Schools National Team competition held at the London Aquatic Centre on Saturday.

This followed on from the swimmers coming first in the Junior boys (11-13u) medley relay in the East Midlands Region in September.

A total of 450 schools entered nationwide with Joshua Skinner, Jimi Knowles, Bradley Francis and Joseph Kingsland qualifying tenth into the finals for the 200m medley relay.

At the finals the boys finished an impressive fifth.
