Kimberley SC edged into fifth after good display at Bramcote

Kimberley Swimming Club travelled to Bramcote to take part in the first round of the Spring Competition League on Saturday.

Despite a tough draw, Kimberley swimmers put in a great team effort and were unlucky to finish in fifth position, only one point behind fourth and only five points away from clinching third place.

This was an achievement for the team as, once again, Kimberley were unable to field their strongest squad resulting in many of the swimmers having to swim up an age group.

First places went to Lauren Gill (Girls 14/u 100m back & 14/u 100m free), Charly Neilson (Girls 10/u 50m breast), Ryan Pigott (Boys 10/u 25m fly), Georgia Stirland (Girls 10/u 50m free) and Jasmine Fahy, Tia Stirland, Charly Pink and Heidi Frost (girls 9/u free relay & 9/u medley relay).

New personal best times were achieved by Lauren Gill (girls 14/u 100m back & 14/u 100m free) Robyn Beecham (Girls open 100m IM), Georgia Stirland (Girls 10/u 50m free), Josie Henderson (Girls 12/u 50m back), Emma Stephenson (Girls 12/u 50m breast), Nick Boston (Boys 14/u 100m free), Ryan Pigott (Boys 10/u 25m fly) Frank Hemingray (Boys 12/u 50m free), Daniel Knowles (Boys 14/u 100m IM) and Mollie Wright (Girls 14/u 100m IM).

The next round of the Spring Competition has yet to be confirmed.
