Plumtree play host to the West Indian Cavaliers, looking to avenge their 17 run defeat in the corresponding fixture last season.

Both sides had comfortable opening day victories, with Hassan Azad in good form after his century against Hucknall is just 15 runs shy of 500 in games at Plumtree.

Cavs Domininc Williamson can reach 6000 NPL runs with a score of 84 while Adeel Shafique can reach 1000 NPL runs if he gets to three on Saturday.

The other battle of winners takes place at Caythorpe where Cuckney are the visitors.

The home side won on the road at Radcliffe, whilst Cuckney edged out Mansfield Hosiery Mills both largely thanks to their bowlers.

Former Caythorpe stalwart, James Hawley is 54 runs short of totalling 2000 on his old patch, whilst current teammate Lewis Bramley’s 2nd victim of the day would be his 100th NPL wicket.

Champions Kimberley started their defence with a high scoring draw at home to Bridon. They travel to Lady Bay this weekend to take on the Notts Academy, who held out for a draw, 9 down at Clifton Village.

For Kimberley, Sam Johnson goes in to the game 21 runs shy of 2500 in NPL action, whilst Notts skipper Paul Franks can claim his 50th wicket in NPL play.

There’s a repeat of last years Champion of Champions match at the Fieldings, where Mansfield HM will be hoping to repeat their victory over Hucknall.

Both sides suffered defeat last weekend so will be out to break their ducks for 2016.

Matt New can pass 3500 runs in the NPL with a score of 53 or more on Saturday.

Ordsall Bridon welcome Radcliff-on-Trent to the north of the county with both sides looking to bounce back from defeats.

Bridon’s bowlers were flayed to all parts of Kimberley last weekend, conceding 374 runs, whilst Radcliffe’s batting would have been a disappointment at home to Caythorpe.

Jake Fish, the young wicket keeper, will look to lead an improvement in that area and tally the 60 runs he needs to reach 1000 in the NPL.

The final game of the day sees Clifton Village make the journey to Welbeck, looking to build on their drawn game with the Academy in which the secured maximum bonus points.

Welbeck could only muster 115 runs in defeat to the Cavaliers and will know they will have to be better here.

Tom Lungley and Martin Weightman will each be trying for at least two wickets.

Lungley can get to 150 NPL scalps, whilst Weightman is seeking 200.
