Luke’s goal not enough for Villa

A round-up of the action involving our local teams in the Nottinghamshire Senior League.

In the Premier Division, Attenborough beat Awsworth Villa 3-1 with goals from Wes Burke and two from Paul Ireson, Luke Henson on target for Awsworth.

FC Cavaliers returned to winning ways with a 3-0 win over Selston thanks to two from Nick Whittaker and one from Ash McPherson.

A Tinsley goal was not enough for Kimberley Miners Welfare who lost at home 1-4 to Cotgrave - Halvey, Jackson, Plummer and Mills on target for Cotgrave.

In Division One, Second-placed Beeston AFC beat Awsworth Villa Reserves 4-3 with two goals from Jamie McKeever and singles from Matt Game and Ben Cheatle. Sam Bowmar, Joe Maguire and Ben Watson were on target for Awsworth.

Third-placed Boots went down to a surprising 2-0 defeat at Underwood Villa with Chris Towlson and Steve Garrett on target.

In Division Two, Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves ran out 3-0 victors over third placed Ruddington with goals from Mat Walker, Josh Lewis and Carlo Rocco.

Moorgreen and Clifton shared six goals with Brookes, Howarth and White for Moorgreen and two from Price and one from Harrison for Clifton.

Result of the day in Division Two had to be Nuthall side United FC hammering Sandhurst Reserves 7-0 at Sandhurst.

Four from Tyrone Gray and a Jamie Carlton hat-trick did the damage.

Selston Reserves beat next to bottom West Bridgford Reserves with goals coming from Liam Gregory and Tom Caunt.
